Uber Driver is a mobile app where everything happens: going online, accepting trips, navigation, payouts, communication with the passenger and support. It is also the place where the driver is rated and rewarded. Mastering the app in the first week noticeably increases earnings.
Where to download
The app is available in Google Play (Android) and in App Store (iPhone). Download and install are free. Do not download APKs from unknown sources - they may be tampered with and put your data at risk.
Device requirements
Android 8.0 or newer, iOS 16 or newer. Minimum 3 GB RAM, a 5.5" or larger screen (for comfort), stable 4G/LTE connection. The app drains battery, so you need a good car charger (ideally USB-C with fast charging). Uber advises keeping the phone in a holder within eye line - otherwise your reaction to trip requests slows down.
First login
After installation you log in with your phone number. The app checks whether your Uber Driver account is activated (after document verification - details in the registration guide). If so, you see the main panel with the "Go Online" button.
Work modes and filters
In the app you can filter trips: UberX only, Comfort only, Black only, one-way trips (when going home), long trips. Well-configured filters can boost efficiency by 10-15%, because you avoid "dead trips" to remote neighbourhoods. More on tactics in Best hours to drive with Uber.
Navigation
Uber Driver has built-in navigation but we recommend setting Google Maps or Waze as default - they are more precise. In app settings pick "Preferred navigation" and select your choice. Trips will automatically open in it.
Payouts and Instant Pay
By default Uber pays weekly (Monday-Sunday, transfer by end of the following week). In the app you can activate Instant Pay - payout right after each trip, to card or bank account. Service fee is usually 0.5-1 PLN per transaction. Most drivers in our network use a combination: weekly main payout, Instant Pay only when cash is needed.
Ratings and stats
Under "Ratings" you see your average rating (note: it is the average of the last 500 trips). Below 4.6 risks deactivation. Under "Earnings" you see weekly breakdown - trips, commission, bonuses, tips, Instant Pay. Worth checking weekly reports to learn which hours earn most.
Most common problems
Problem #1: app crashes. Usually a system update and phone restart help. If not - reinstall. Problem #2: no trips showing. Check if you are online, have signal and that filters are not blocking trips. Problem #3: cannot log in. Usually a temporary account block after unusual activity - call support or message us, we help unblock.
